If you need a break from the sun, head indoors to the popular Ripley's Aquarium. This aquatic wonderland sits in a premier location in the heart of Myrtle Beach, making it easy to access. The attractions and exhibits at Ripley's Aquarium have been designed to be both exciting and educational for all ages, giving you an up-close look at the marine animals that live at the aquarium as well as encourage personal interaction with some of the animals. You can walk through a 750,000 gallon tank and look around you in wonder as 10-foot sharks, piranhas, and other sea creatures swim on both sides of you as well as overhead. Explore the Rio Amazon where you can get an up-close look at a Pacific Giant Octopus, sea horses, piranhas, and living coral. Enjoy the thrill of hands-on experiences with the animals at the Sea-For-Yourself Discovery Center, Ray Bay, and other exhibits. To add to your experience, Ripley's Aquarium also hosts dive shows, educational classes, and special presentations throughout the day.
