South Carolina, the state that prides itself on smiling faces and beautiful faces, invites one and all to the Annual Little River Shrimp and Jazz Fest. The party is held on a weekend in October from 9am to 6pm each day, in the beautiful community of Little River, South Carolina. Enjoy the great food and a musical experience not to be missed. This is a fun festival for the whole family. Visitors can participate in fine arts and crafts, and there are all kinds of activities for the kids. A host of performers will provide the entertainment.
Little River is on the coast, not far from the North Carolina state line. The community has a population of just over 7,000, but people who come for the Shrimp and Jazz Fest will find a variety of other attractions. Visitors can enjoy sightseeing tours, go on cruises, or take in some of the local history, which even has some haunting legends. A must stop is the historic Governor's Lighthouse. There is white water rafting on the river, and the town has a beautiful marina. The sport fishing is great, and the 18 hole golf course was designed by Tom Jackson. At the little La Belle Amie Vineyard and Winery, you can see how wine is made and sample some of the product. For those who enjoy a day of sun, surf and sand, internationally famous Myrtle Beach is just a short drive away.
