This center is being celebrated for its ground-breaking innovation in teaching the youth. The museum has created more of a discovery and interactive centers that is fun for children, both the young and old. Their commitment to education & fun is a fundamental aspect of the science, technology and humanities displays.
Children can explore all their favorites including fossils, rocks, electricity, photography and exploration of the human body. The center also takes the fear out of important aspects of life, such as the Emergency Room, and a dental office, understanding tornadoes, and fire safety & truck rides with the local fire department. New programs will explore the art of recycling, making a meal, how to make a million dollars, what is needed to build a house, and how to make a meal.
Children get 'hands on' experience in all aspects of the photography, art projects, and learning how to make edible play dough, make sand sculptures.
Summer programs are hosted at the Coastal Carolina University and The Children's Museum, in August. Each summer. The program runs Monday to Friday, is managed by certified teachers and counselors, and is a nationally acclaimed day camp. The summer camp is open to K-5.
Membership includes several benefits including birthday parties, discounts at the gift shop, discount workshop fees. Passports are for group use and can be used for several visits. Passes can be used for 5 or more people and can be reused through a month.
