Barefoot Landing is usually too crowded. Nearby to Dock Holidays Marina is the
Little River Swing Bridge—a pontoon bridge-- which does not open at low tide and opens only on the hour, so making sure to stay in contact with the bridge tender to go through should be on the "to-do" list.
A fun family outing is the Captain Gary Dayton boat ride, lasting about an hour for the entire family down to the little three-year olds. Offering the boat rides every two hours, these outings of the Jet-A-Wave Jetboat water adventure ride are extremely popular for the young-at-heart with the first hour a leisurely sight-seeing cruise, which changes to pure exhilaration as the
Little River Inlet approaches and the boat travels at 30 knots. US Coast Guard Certified, the 20 passenger and 28 foot boat is co-located with the Thomas Outdoor Water Sports fifteen minutes north of Barefoot Landings.
For those who are hungry after sailing, a nearby restaurant called "Fisherman's Marketplace" is open, offering early bird specials with a seafood theme at lower prices than most. A new restaurant, it is decorated as if it were an actual fish market on the inside. Customers can sit outside the restaurant and have a great view while watching the Christmas Regatta Boat Parade in the holiday seasons--with many rating this as the prime viewing location for the boat parade which benefits needy children with toys and cash in the
Grand Strand area.
