Learn about how the rice crop has helped shape South Carolina at the Rice Museum in Georgetown, only 35 miles south of Myrtle Beach.
Georgetown produced half of the rice in the United States in the mid 19th century and visitory can discover the history of the crop through diagrams, maps, artifacts, and more.
The Rice Museum is open Moday-Saturday from 10 am to 4:30 pm and they are closed on Sundays as well as major holidays. Admission is free for kids under 13 and discounts are available for seniors, students, and large groups.
